Last week we urged you to 'shut up and try' (in the nicest possible way, of course). It only seems right to follow it up with this week's Words of Wisdom: mistakes are proof you are trying.
To be fair, we HATE mistakes. Given the choice, our natural reflexes would have things turn our perfectly all the time, every time. That reflex has even kept us from starting projects for fear that they won't work out as quickly as we want them to.
It has taken a lot of practice to become even remotely comfortable with the idea that making mistakes is okay. And even more dedication, and open-mindedness, and faith to believe that mistakes are actually necessary.
So where we used to wish for no mistakes, we now make an effort to wish for the courage to make them. Because it's unrealistic to think there will be no bumps along the road. It's much more valuable to learn how to move forward while embracing them.
To the bumps in the road,
Taylor & Dorothy
