I HAVE NOT FAILED... I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work. Which is okay. Because there is value in finding the things that don't work - if we listen to them closely, then they eventually bring us closer to the things that do work.
Just remember that If we only ever embarked on the things that were a sure bet, then we wouldn't come up with anything new. As we are working on our latest back-end framework update we're going through the GFJ archives. And while we're thankful for all of the success of GFJ (as defined by Seth Godin's recent blog post, for which we hope we qualify), we are coming across many GFJ projects that never took on a life of their own - the LIVEchat feature, GFJ Day, and the reading list that we are still meaning to perfect. Not to mention the dozens of ideas that haven't even made it to fruition - 4GoodFood (a fundraising platform that only allows you to donate in $4 increments), GFJDate (our online dating site solely for food lovers), Good Food Odd Jobs (for one-off gigs, volunteer days, and other alternative employment opportunities).
We keep chugging along. You win some, you lose some. But there's no chance to win if you don't play.
Your companions,
Taylor & Dorothy
