Hot Bread Kitchen is seeking a reliable, self-motivated, creative problem-solver with a high level of attention to detail and follow-through to assist in the administration of the existing Bakers in Training program and the development of a new apprenticeship model. The ideal candidate will have experience in program management, administrative work, monitoring and evaluating, comfort interacting with the public, and demonstrated written and oral presentation skills.
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Develop, maintain and leverage partnerships with community-based organizations to solicit referrals for the Bakers in Training program
- Coordinate outreach to community partners and conduct information sessions to present about Hot Bread Kitchen and Bakers in Training
- Manage the application, intake, and group interview process for Bakers in Training applicants
- Provide one-on-one support in math and reading comprehension, personal financial literacy, professional development, and job placement to women in the Bakers in Training program
- Develop, maintain, and leverage partnerships with employers to secure full-time jobs for graduates of the Bakers in Training program
- Track and report data and activities regarding applicants and community and employment partnership activities
- Maintain a meticulous database (Salesforce) of applicants, trainees and alumni and their activities
- Provide metrics and copy to development team for grant writing and reporting
- Administer and coordinate the efforts of the Bakers in Training alumnae association
Attributes:
- B.A. or M.A. in Business, Public Administration, Community Development, Sociology, Food Studies or other related field
- Program Management Experience
- Food Industry Experience
- Computer literacy (including MS Office and Salesforce)
- Spanish and French Proficiency
- Strong interpersonal/relationship building and professional communication skills
- Passion for helping food workers and entrepreneurs and desire to learn about social enterprises
- Flexible to work night or weekend hours, if necessary
- Commitment to Hot Bread Kitchen’s mission
Compensation:
This is a full-time position with eligibility for benefits including paid vacation and holidays, paid sick leave, health/dental/vision packages, short-term disability and retirement savings. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus. Salary is commensurate with experience.
