We are a new non-profit focused on seed justice.

Our mission is to engage communities in seed stewardship practices that strengthen agricultural, cultural, and biological diversity.

Our holistic seed literacy programs and community seed development projects protect local cultivars and are a catalyst for growing social, food, and seed justice solutions.

This year our anchor projects include a partnership with the Haudenosaunee growing sacred seed Mohawk / Iroquois varieties, partnering with farms and chefs to grow and promote endangered varieties and seed diversity, and offering trainings in community seed stewardship including community gardeners, seed libraries, and cultural seed banks.

Job description

We're looking for help with our Native American Seed Sanctuary in Kingston, NY at the Hudson Valley Farm Hub and our Kitchen Cultivars program at the Glynwood farm in New Paltz, NY. The position is three days a week through October. Job starts in May. Most days will be spent in the field cultivating as well as trials evaluations, data entry, partner farm visits, and helping with public events. This is a physically demanding job that requires gardening or farming experience, a cooperative spirit, and cultural sensitivity.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $15/hr +
