Job description

Interested in pursuing a career in bread baking? Have you always dreamed about waking up early in the morning to make that dough? Would you love working in an environment that is surrounded by some of the best bakers in the nation? If so, then we have the job for you.

We are currently looking for two bread bakers to join our team at the San Francisco Baking Institute. As a bread baker at SFBI, you will be responsible for:

Mixing, shaping, baking and packing all of your wonderful creations to send to our retail outlet, Thoroughbread and Pastry, in San Francisco. You and the bread team will be responsible for making both naturally leavened breads as well as viennoiserie products, such as croissants and Danishes.

We are willing to train anyone with the right attitude. We seek people who are self starters, problem solvers, detail oriented, efficient and work with a sense of urgency.

In addition to your hourly compensation, we also offer paid overtime and health benefits after 60 days as well as having access to the only school in the nation that is exclusively dedicated to artisan baking. Many of our former bakers have both worked as teaching assistants as well as participated in some of our classes at the school.
