Job description
Kingston Wine Co. is a dynamic and growing young business in a historic waterfront neighborhood. You will learn, have fun and be an integral part of our diverse community. We are seeking a sales associate with managerial aspirations to educate our people on all things wine, and contribute to the development of our growing clientele. We believe strongly in a balanced life, and have fun educating and interacting with our customers. Our ideal candidate must have previous wine retail experience, be comfortable independently operating a small shop, have superb skills interfacing with people, have a high social IQ, and be polite. Our positive work environment is a badge of pride. Jerks need not apply.
Weekly hours will range from 30-40 hours per week.
As a sales associate you will be responsible for:
-Educating and assisting customers with their wine selections
-Working the point of sale system to process sales
-Beautifying the shop on a daily basis (dusting, sweeping, etc.)
-Overseeing wine shipments
-Opening and closing duties
-Uploading invoices
-Developing and expanding our customer base through email blasts, in-store events, and regional collaborations
-Maintaining inventory, uploading website content
-Participating in trade tastings locally and in NYC
-Organizing in-shop tastings
For the right candidate, after an initial period of time, we also offer wine education subsidies with the WSET, paid vacation and quality of life assistance — think wellness memberships!
