Job description
Our PR and Digital Marketing Director drives all New York, Los Angeles and National communication efforts. This position plays a key role in developing and executing strategic opportunities to support both Van Leeuwen's business and brand objectives. The role requires creating from the ground up a PR and social media strategy, while will working closely with the production and culinary teams, retail teams and founders to tell the story of Van Leeuwen. This position will develop effective media strategies, implement proactive outreach and secures stories. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for artisanally produced food, a deep understanding of media and have established relationships.Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive proactive, result focused media outreach in multiple channels to define and amplify Van Leeuwen's messages.
- Work directly and daily with key business, food, consumer, lifestyle and culture outlets to drive stories for Van Leeuwen.
- Plan, develop, implement, and actively pitch media opportunities to support Van Leeuwen's key ingredient stories, new product activations, environmental initiatives and general commercial priorities.
- Manage, cultivate and expand long-term relationships with key media and influencers for Van Leeuwen.
- Research, write and leverage communication materials.
Required Skills:
- Develop market insight and monitor development and sentiment to identify emerging opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, PR, English, communications, business, or related field required.
- 3 years professional experience in high profile corporate communications or public relations roles supporting retail branded organizations.
- Proven ability to successfully drive media relations strategies and programs.
- Experience in working directly with media, initiating and driving media relations
- Established relationships with key influential food, fashion and lifestyle titles.
- Energetic, self-starter and resourceful problem solver. Ability to think creatively, strategically, and execute projects on time.
- Strong writing skills. Outstanding verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Deep understanding of evolving communications environment and digital landscape.
- Professional social media skills.
