The Cleaver Co., a full service event planning and catering company located in the Chelsea Market, is seeking an Accounting and HR Manager to join our team.  Our business encompasses The Cleaver Co., The Green Table, a 45 seat full-service restaurant located on our premises, Table Green and Table Green Café, our off-premise food service kiosks, and Green Table Farm, located in Washington County, NY.

Job description

This position will work closely with the Business Operations Manager and our Accountant as well as the company President, and will report to the company President. This position be responsible for HR and accounting needs across all aspects of our business.

Duties include:

  • Process check & credit card payments
  • File monthly sales tax returns and monitor corporate taxes
  • Enter all financial transactions into Quickbooks
  • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Manage time clock and set up all new employees in Time Force and CompuPay.
  • Run payroll weekly, maintaining close contact with Payroll Company.
  • Write and update job descriptions as needed and maintain employee handbook
  • Manage hiring and onboarding new employees
  • Administer and monitor health insurance, dental insurance, transit check program, and education and management training programs
  • Track reviews, birthdays, sick/vacation days for full-time and part-time employees
  • Track unemployment and report all time worked for applicable employees
  • Oversee the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization and train managing staff to remain in compliance with such laws regulating employee files
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Study relevant industry trends

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience, preferably in a Food Business
  • HR experience strongly preferred

 

This is a full-time, salaried position with a health insurance plan

Compensation

this position is: salaried, 50k to 100k
