Company description

Humid Research is a software company that's tagline is "software for humans." We strive to create tools that help people live better lives. Our latest project is called Dorsia. Dorsia is a database of all the best restaurants, bars, stores, and tourist attractions in each city, with a focus on independent/mom-and-pop businesses.

Our founders came up with the idea for Dorsia after being frustrated by not having enough time to properly plan a vacation. It's easy to find the greatest hits of a city, but trickier to catch wind of local favorites, like that tiny ramen-ya, dive bar, or record shop. Without being on the ground, it’s tough to suss out what spots are the real deal, and which are merely working with a killer PR firm.

Dorsia works by finding trusted, savvy critics from each city. We listen to the experts, whether that be a local blogger or a major newspaper reporter, and aggregate the restaurants, bars, galleries, and museums they consider the best. Our researchers keep up with cultural criticism, Twitter buzz, major openings, and word-of-mouth, so that our readers don’t have

We're hiring researchers in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

  • A solid grasp on the current food scene and who the major players are in your city.
