Their chorizo factory and original small retail store front is located in Jackson Heights, Queens, with the corporate headquarters and warehouse facility for distribution located in Woodside, Queens. Despaña Brand Foods is a family run operation that has earned a very strong presence as a recognized leading importer of authentic, high quality, brand name food products exclusively from Spain. In 2011, they opened Despaña Vinos y Mas, a boutique specializing in Spanish wines and liquors. The store operates conveniently next to the cafe in the fashionable neighborhood of SoHo, NYC.

Job description

Deli & Sales Clerk for Gourmet Shop (SoHo)  Despana Fine Foods & Tapas Cafe is seeking a Deli and Sales clerk for its specialty retail shop. The candidate needs to be friendly, self motivated with a positive attitude and vibrant personality to increase sales. Candidate must also possess a high standard of customer service, project a friendly, helpful & lively image, and have great interest in learning about Spanish food products to share that info with customers.

Duties:

• Attending to customers in the cheese, meat and pantry sections of the store
• Cut cheese and meats according to customer requests
• Learn about the products in order to inform and sell to customers
• Assist with cafe needs, ringing up and expediting orders during busy rush lunch hours
• Restocking shelving, pricing when necessary
