Bklyn Larder is a celebration of good food. A retail cheese and provisions shop specializing in sustainably produced ingredients, Bklyn Larder has been providing the Park Slope and Prospect Heights community with a welcoming place to find and enjoy hand-crafted cheeses, homemade prepared foods, and hard-to-find grocery items since its opening in June of 2009.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Our online services are growing, allowing us to provide our love of good food to folks who can not make it to our original location. As such, we're looking for someone to manage and grow our internet presence. While passion for well-produced food products is a must, this position also requires experience with online marketing, combines regular maintenance for our web-related tools (website, social media, and the like), strategy pertaining to how to maximize our web presence, and organization and implementation to fulfill web orders. WEB COMMUNICATIONS & OPTIMIZATION

  • Online marketing & growing online presence
  • Setting clear growth goals for calendar year
  • Communicate with clients and customers via phone & email
  • Site maintenance, including menu updates, holiday hours, call to action buttons. Keep website up to date with new products, including writing descriptions, coordinating photography, and uploading all information to the website
  • Responsible for development of our social media strategy for bklynlarder.com using Instagram, Facebook and possible other platforms
  • Oversee the maintenance and adding content of the BKLYN Larder blog.
  • Manage the strategy, implementation, and analysis of Google AdWords and Facebook Ads
  • Provide weekly reports to owners & management
  • Writing copy for eblasts/newsletters

LOGISTICS

  • Update and keep weekly mail orders filed and organized
  • Update weekly inventory for web store
  • Order supplies for packing and shipping
  • Create & implement efficient systems & training materials for order fulfillment
  • Hire & train a seasonal team of "E-Commerce Elves" for the Big Holiday Push
  • Communication with FedEx and delivery/courier services for gift box orders/deliveries
  • Expand perishables shipping program, including research and development for shipping cheese, meats, chocolates, pastries and other temperature sensitive products
  • Keep staff informed of upcoming corporate orders to coordinate extra staffing as needed

  • You have keen organizational skills, and the ability to implement systems
  • You either have a) experience with mail order, food or otherwise, or b) have an interest in learning about it and the skills to make it happen
  • You are self-motivated and willing to do the work entailed to get the job done
  • You have clear communication skills
