About Us:

Real Food Real Stories (RFRS) is a mission-driven organization that uses storytelling to build community, foster deep connections, and create cultures of collaborative action to support healthy and sustainable food systems. RFRS' core offering is a series of curated storytelling events that bring together local food heroes to connect over meals in a fun and intimate setting, as well as other storytelling media such as film and podcast to further tell the stories. The core RFRS team consists of volunteer collaborators who have committed to working on various elements of the organization to help see it through to its next stage of growth. This values-aligned group is very collaborative, fun-loving, and supportive of learning and growing together. The organization is taking steps toward a viable and sustainable organization and is looking for a highly aligned staff person and adventure partner to help move this process forward effectively and efficiently.

The Opportunity:

RFRS seeks an energetic and motivated individual to work directly with the Founder and Associate Director to help build this early-stage organization into a viable, sustainable, non-profit business. The position support the development work of the organization, as well as managing storytelling gatherings and storytelling media production (film & podcast).

Primary Duties & Requirements:

• Storytelling gathering production management
• Storytelling media production management
• Support engagement with press and media
• Support collaborative efforts with RFRS collaborators, ambassadors and volunteers
• Attend RFRS gatherings (not counted in the hour of work, unless directly working at the gathering such as filming)
• Must be local to the Bay AreaQualifications & Skills
• Passionate about storytelling and food
• Knowledgeable of sustainable food systems
• Experienced in event planning, film and podcast production management
• Clear communicator
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong writing skills
• Highly collaborative
• A good culture fit:
• Practiced in deep listening
• Relationship-oriented
• Understands importance of creating a container for authenticity and vulnerability
• Knows how to have fun!

Additional Desired Qualifications:

• Well connected and networked in the Bay Area food scene and/or media scene, or elsewhere if new to the Bay Area
