Job description
LocalHarvest.org is looking for a Project Manager for CSAWare, our online CSA Management System. LocalHarvest is the largest directory of direct-market farms, CSAs, and farmers markets in the U.S. CSAware provides a variety of e-commerce, scheduling, contact management, and ERP services for farmers and others delivering food on a subscription basis. The main responsibility of the Project Manager is to manage the evolution of the CSAware software – managing software development while scaling its userbase. This will involve providing leadership for ongoing development ofvarious new features, managing the engineers' development schedule and deadlines, communicating with clients about their development needs, and prioritizing those needs. Other responsibilities include working with our larger clients and the CSAware team to create and implement launch plans, overseeing customer service to ensure smooth training of new clients, monitoring financial goals, and developing systems and processes that support the scalability of our software.
We're looking for someone who has experience managing software development projects, has strong leadership and decision making skills, and is highly organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience designing effective team processes and building strong relationships with clients. Strong written and verbal communicationskills are essential. An eye for information design would be extremely helpful, as would a solid understanding of Community Supported Agriculture in its many manifestations.
A word on the work environment: All CSAware employees work from home and thus we communicate primarily via instant message, phone, and email. CSAware is based in Santa Cruz, CA, but two of our four staff people live and work from Northfield, MN. We are a values-driven company made up of people who thrive in a bureaucracy-free work environment. If you do your best work in a nimble, friendly, supportive team, you'll fit in well here.
