Change Food Program Assistant – Fall 2015By connecting those who produce and care about food, Change Food transforms the environment in which food is grown and helps change the way we eat. Change Food raises awareness and educates consumers about today’s food system while promoting tools and resources that move individuals and families toward eating healthy, delicious, sustainable food. Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director 24 hours/week, the Change Food Program Assistant will:
- Provide organizational and administrative support
- Perform social media outreach, website updating and research
- Contribute directly to or oversee other projects as needed, including the Change Food Festival in Fall 2016, the Change Food Video Library, Change Food Educational Kits, and additional projects that will launch in 2016
- Top priority is to organize, support and assist the Executive Director
- Coordinate social media outreach
- Keep website up to date at all times
- Help prepare for, host/execute and follow up on large and small events, including the Change Food Festival in Fall 2016
- Assist with research for Change Food Educational Kits (part of the Change Food Video Library)
- Assist with developing and marketing the Change Food Video Library
- Draft and edit content for the website and other communications or marketing pieces
- Manage interns and volunteers
- Additional responsibilities based on organization needs
- Bachelors degree
- Background in writing/blogging, research and/or marketing
- Demonstrated proficiency with Wordpress, website updating and social media (including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram)
- Ability to work independently (Change Food has a ‘virtual office’ and staff must have their own computers and places to work) and be available to meet with Executive Director in person in Manhattan as needed
- A strong interest or background in sustainable food
- Excellent organizational skills to keep the Executive Director and workflow focused and running smoothly
- Ability to lead, train and manage interns and others
- Can do attitude while juggling multiple responsibilities simultaneously
