The company currently has 7 stores and 6 trucks in NYC and LA and sells packaged pints to Wholefoods Market and other stores in the tri-state area. Van Leeuwen's ice cream is made exclusively at the Williamsburg Factory.Van Leeuwen is owned and operated by founders Ben Van Leeuwen, Pete Van Leeuwen and Laura O'Neill. The team started out in 2008 with a single scoop truck and remain passionate and very hands on to this day.

The work environment is shaped by team members who create opportunity, growth, and fun.<br /><br /> REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS<br /> <ul> <li>Quick Service Management Experience</li> <li>Food Service Experience</li> <li>Open Availability (mornings, evenings, weekends)</li> <li>Trustworthy, Organized, Excellent Communication Skills</li> <li>Ability to effectively manage a team and lead by example.</li> <li>Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.</li> <li>Exceptionally high standards for cleanliness.</li> <li>Barista experience a major plus (but not a necessity).</li> <li>Current Food Handlers Certificate (or willingness to obtain upon hire)</li> </ul> STORE MANAGER BRIEF<br /> <ul> <li>Represent the Van Leeuwen brand</li> <li>Maintain high standards of our current and growing ice cream, pastry and coffee program.</li> <li>Manage store operations: Scheduling, ordering of dry goods and other supplies, cash management and deposits, hiring and training new employees, facilities upkeep. </li> <li>Effectively communicate with other company departments to ensure store needs are met.</li> <li>Maintain and enforce systems to ensure a clean and tidy store at all times.</li> <li>Promote and enforce sound food handling and cleaning practices.</li> <li>Inspire cooperation within the team, lead by example.</li> <li>Promote an environment of fun, kindness and respect. </li> </ul> We are looking for candidates that are able to make a minimum of 12 months commitment.<br /><br /> COMPENSATION<br /> Based on experience.
