Big Spoon Roasters makes handcrafted nut butters in Durham, North Carolina. Our carefully selected nuts and wildflower honeys are sourced from local and like-minded farmers who share our dedication to authentic quality. Each small batch is roasted, milled, and packaged while still warm to produce nut butters that are uniquely fresh, delicious, and nutritious.

Position Summary

Working in coordination with Order Processing, Packaging, and Quality Control, Production Team Members participate in all stages of production, staging, and shipping. As with all positions at BSR, the responsibilities and duties for this position will evolve on a continual basis depending on the needs and growth of the company. 
- Roasting and milling nuts!
- Jar sorting and basic ingredient preparation.
- Jar tamping, lidding, and labeling.
- Following recipes, accurately add ingredients and mix batches.
- Filling, lidding, and labeling jars of nut butter.
- Filling open order invoices with freshly made products.
- Record batch/jar numbers each day. 
- Assist customers with pick-up orders. 
- Accurately label boxes and fill orders (open invoices) for shipping and local delivery. 
- Update the Production Team Leader about ingredients that need to be prepped. 
- Advise the Production Team Leader of low stock levels. - Assist in physical inventory counts at the end of each month. 
- Complete a thorough cleaning of the production space, wares, equipment, tables, and general warehouse area each day with additional cleaning, as advised, on Fridays.
- Assist with energy bar production and recipe testing. - Other duties as assigned, e.g. inspecting products and notifying quality issues to operator or supervisor; taping, labeling, adjusting, and palletizing cases; trash pick-up and dumping; packing product on various types of equipment; packing for UPS and USPS shipping, daily.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Previous production experience a plus
- Comfortable standing for long periods of time
- Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly during an 8 hour shift - Comfortable with repetitive motions
- Willingness to be flexible with schedule
- Able to follow through with verbal instructions
- Passion for great food
- Strong Attention to detail  

Compensation & Benefits

- We pay a living wage. Starting hourly wage of $12/hour with an increase to $13.75/hour upon a positive 3-month review. Lots of potential for growth!
- Gym / Fitness membership stipend for full-time employees (min. 35 hours/week)
- Local Food CSA stipend (redeemed in early spring of each year) for full-time employees.
- One 8oz jar of Big Spoon Roasters nut butter per week (min. 18 hours worked).  
- Monthly cash bonus based on year-over-year growth.
