Myers Produce is hiring a Brooklyn-based distribution assistant!  Myers is a new regional produce distributor that operates out of Hardwick, Vermont and South Deerfield, Massachusetts.  We purchase fresh fruit and vegetables directly from farmers throughout Vermont and Western Mass, and sell this produce to wholesale customers within New York City.  Especially as spring and summer vegetables fill our truck to overflow, we want to have someone on our team who is excited to learn about our food and our farmers, and to participate in the presentation of this produce to all of our city customers.

Responsibilities

• Copilot twice weekly morning route within NYC
• Check produce quality at each of our stops
• Confirm order completion for each customer
• Greet receivers and customers
• Communicate any customer/receiver feedback
• Recommend adjustments and ideas to make our city presence as smooth and efficient as possible.

The ideal candidate for this position:

• Is a morning person!
• Is observant, has excellent attention to detail
• Understands how critical their role is to Myers Produce
• Adapts well to the changes and surprises that are inevitable in our line of work
• Likes physical work, is able to lift 40-50 lb boxes 
• Is interested in our mission
• Has a smart phone (not required, but it's helpful).

Requirements:

• Food handling experience
• Rudimentary knowledge of New York City/Brooklyn layout and neighborhoods
