About the Food Business School:
The Food Business School (FBS) is The Culinary Institute of America’s (CIA) new center for executive and graduate education. The Food Business School broadens the CIA’s commitment to the future of food education and leadership by providing cutting-edge, practice-based business education to corporate professionals, recent graduates and mid-career explorers. The mission of the FBS is to enable and empower entrepreneurial leaders to design, deliver, and lead transformative innovations that address the world’s most pressing food challenges—and its greatest business opportunities. The Food Business School is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and calls the CIA’s spectacular Greystone campus in Napa Valley its home.

Overview of the Position:  
The Food Business School is looking for an experienced administrative professional to ensure smooth operations. The Operations Manager will handle all administration, IT coordination, and contracts, and will serve as the main back office liaison to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. The FBS is very much a startup environment and we are looking for an individual who is a go getter but who can also navigate a larger organization.
This is a part-time (20 hours per week) position. Most of the work can be accomplished from a home office. The individual needs to be based in the San Francisco Bay Area to participate in twice-monthly in-person team meetings.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle all administrative needs of the Food Business School
  • Coordinate IT needs and support, such as researching and evaluating software options and tools to be used by faculty and administrators
  • Manage contracts for vendors and faculty
  • Assist in managing budgets
  • Serve as main back off contact for the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Strong interpersonal skills, diplomatic
  • Driven
  • 3-5 years of experience managing operations or administration
  • Experience evaluating IT platforms and tools
  • Well-suited to a startup culture and environment
  • Experience successfully navigating a larger organization
