Job description

The University of Vermont seeks a Farm Coordinator for its Catamount Educational Farm.

Responsibilities include:

-Management of vegetable production in support of on-farm educational programming
-Development and implementation of an overall farm plan in support of: Farmer Training Program (FTP) and Plant & Soil Sciences (PSS) undergraduate programs; Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), farm stand, and institutional produce sales; and research needs of faculty.
-Providing instructional support for the Farmer Training Program and provide field laboratory support for Plant & Soil Sciences courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor Degree in plant science or related field and three years of experience in vegetable farm management and education required.
-Effective analytical, communication, organizational, and teaching skills required.
-Experience teaching in a hands-on environment. -Knowledge of operational budgets for farm systems.
-Valid driver’s license required to operate farm vehicles. -Ability to safely and efficiently operate farm equipment.
