Farmer/Teacher – Kitchen Assistant, Program for Visiting Schools/Summer Camp at The Farm School

Do you love curating the perfect playlist? Can you see yourself leading a dance party while simultaneously drying dishes with a group of 5th graders? The Farm School is looking for a highly motivated and energized Kitchen Assistant to work alongside mini chefs (aka mostly urban youth) and The Farm School Cook. Help prepare family-style meals for 30+ using farm fresh produce and meats. 90% kitchen/10% other farm related chores and tasks. This 10 1/2 month, position is a great introduction to farm based education and an opportunity to deepen kitchen skills. No farming experience necessary, applicants with culinary training and/or restaurant kitchen experience will be given preference. Previous work with children a plus.

The details:
Position is full time, February 1, 2015 through mid-Dec. 2015
Compensation is commensurate with experience, includes room/board and full health care benefits.
