Job description

Sterling College, a small experiential and ecologically focused liberal arts college in Craftsbury Common, Vermont, invites applications for one part-time position to teach two sections of Food Entrepreneurism as part of Vermont’s Table: Farming, Cooking, and the Rural Experience.

This course will highlight leading voices in the region’s vibrant rural agricultural economy. We welcome applications from inspired educators with strong applied skills in the field who wish to teach in this exciting newprogram.

This is a 10-week position beginning on May 30th, 2011 and ending on August 12th, 2011. The seminar will meet once weekly for three hours over two 5-week sessions.

Teaching responsibilities include facilitating a weekly seminar in food entrepreneurism, communicating with and providingstructure for weekly guest speakers, developing a syllabus, coordinating with other program faculty,designing assignments, and assessing students.

The ideal candidate is an innovative and passionate teacher with experience in his or her field who can teach in a flexible interdisciplinary environment and has the ability and interest to support an integrative college curriculum.
