Job description
Cookstr.com is seeking an Editor to oversee all editorial responsibilities associated with Cookstr.com as well as to manage the editorial content and operations for all of Cookstr’s partnerships. The ideal candidate should have a passion for food, cooking, and recipes as well as a deep interest in new media, technology, and business development. In addition, the Editor should be highly self-motivated, an excellent communicator, have a keen attention to detail, and be excited by the opportunity to be part of the core team at an early-stage company.Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain Cookstr.com and its content
• Liaise with chefs and authors, publishers, corporate partners, and advertisers on a diverse range of projects
• Implement and maintain syndication of Cookstr recipes on Cookstr’s partner sites
• Maintain, moderate, and analyze online social media (Facebook, Twitter, blog)
• Proofread and copyedit previously published recipes for online publication; tag recipes for advanced content searching and nutritional information calculation
• Hire and manage freelance recipe taggers
• Produce original editorial articles for Cookstr’s partner sites
• Produce and edit integrated advertorial copy for sponsored e-newsletters
• Provide customer support and troubleshooting
• Advise on new feature development, new partnerships, and overall site direction
Requirements:
• At least 3 years experience in an editorial or other media environment
• Capable editor of varied writing styles
• Must be a creative and effective problem solver
• Well organized; able to multitask with skill and ease, juggle parallel projects, and monitor and meet concurrent deadlines
• Outstanding work ethic and commitment to quality
• Desire to work in a small, fast-growing, entrepreneurial company
