Accessing healthy food is critical for people who are too sick or frail to shop and cook for themselves. We also provide hot, nutritious meals for seniors to help them tackle the health challenges of old age.

Good nutrition enables our clients to better manage the symptoms of disease, mitigate the side effects of treatment, and can speed recovery. Our registered dietitian supports and counsels our clients to help them feel better by eating right. 

Position Summary:

The Project Open Hand SLP Production Manager is an essential leadership position in our bustling kitchen. In order to continue our seven-day-a-week production of nutritious meals with love we rely on our SLP Production Manager to effectively lead and supervise their direct reports and ensure that production demands are met.

The SLP Production Manager will work side by side with their kitchen management counterparts to continue to strengthen and improve our outstanding team and programs.

This position is ideal for an ambitious, professional chef/manager looking to lead a team of dedicated and conscientious cooks in a warm and fulfilling environment.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Three + years' experience of high volume kitchen supervision with at least 3 direct reports
  • Have an understanding and be able to complete HACCP procedures
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English to facilitate communications in the kitchen
  • Must be flexible to work early mornings, weekends or holidays to meet demands
Desired:
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • HACCP certification
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all aspects of SLP staff management
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation is being performed by all SLP staff
  • Review SLP production sheets and prep lists to make sure all items are cooked and packaged properly and ready for distribution
  • Responsible for ordering all produce, dry goods, side products and supplies for the department
  • Ensures all SLP products meet POH quality and quantity specifications
  • Part of kitchen and agency management with all responsibilities that entails
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical demands:
