Blue Hill at Stone Barns is seeking a skilled, career-minded individual in search of a unique event planning opportunity.  For over a decade, co-owners, Dan, David, and Laureen Barber, have cultivated a one-of-a-kind farm-to-table experience at their two restaurants:  Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns.  The Event Coordinator will report directly to Blue Hill’s director of events and will assist with booking and planning private events for both locations.  The position is based out of Blue Hill at Stone Barns located in Pocantico Hills, New York (Southern Westchester), with occasional travel to New York City for particular events. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and food, articulate and enjoys working in a busy environment.  The regular hours of this position include work during the evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:
*Respond to event inquiries promptly and professionally
*Act as a primary client contact for private events, including corporate dinners, birthdays, weddings and other celebrations
*Coordinate event timing and details with outside vendors
*Execute the majority of administrative details that go into each event
*Accurately maintain the client database and calendar system
*Build positive relationships that lead to repeat business
*Liaison with all restaurant departments to finalize event details
*Assist with occasional off-premise event planning and execution

*Polished verbal and written communication skills
*Personable; comfortable working professionally with a extensive client base
*Able to perform responsibilities in a fast paced and demanding environment
*Strong computer skills
*Excellent organizational skills and able to independently prioritize tasks
*Effective at problem solving
*Interest in food and restaurants
*Available to work evenings and weekends
*Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years relevant experience preferred

Blue Hill, in Greenwich Village, is the perfect setting for birthdays, business lunches, receptions, rehearsal dinners and anniversaries. Events can take place in our garden room that seats up to 16 guests or the main dining room that seats up to 50 guests. 

Blue Hill at Stone Barns, located at the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, offers a private dining room that seats up to 64 guests or can be divided for smaller groups and the HayLoft that can accommodate groups of 65 - 260 guests.

In addition, meetings, outings and retreats for up to 260 guests can be accommodated on-site, with extensive team-building activities offered in conjunction with our farmers and chefs.
