AgSquared is bringing online planning, management and record keeping tools to small farms, helping farmers all over the world better manage their businesses to become more productive, profitable and sustainable. We are looking for a teammate to help us increase awareness and adoption of AgSquared throughout the farming community so that we can help farmers achieve their business and production goals.

As Outreach Team Leader you will spearhead reach outs to the broader farming community (including both farmers and those who work and interact with them on a regular basis) to raise the level of awareness of AgSquared and to explain how AgSquared can be of help. Working directly with the company’s founders, you will connect by phone, email and in person with leaders in different sectors of the farming industry - from cooperative extension agents to farmers market coordinators to farm educators, to name just a few - to educate them about AgSquared and interest them in spreading the word through their networks. You will need to develop an approach for managing communications, be able to set a communications timeline, and be able to prioritize communications in terms of likelihood of success. You will have the opportunity to work closely with other members of the AgSquared team to develop educational programs and other materials tailored to the needs of the contacts identified.

This is a part-time to full-time remote position. You should feel comfortable working from home and with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of productivity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying influencers and network hubs in the farmer community and preparing custom communications to introduce AgSquared using messaging that speaks to the contact’s community and constituents
  • Initiating and maintaining regular email and phone communication with contacts, building toward greater engagement with AgSquared in that community
  • Responding to AgSquared’s market research findings to refine the communications plan over time for greater impact
  • Preparing communications that target new communities through our website, our blog, email, FB and Twitter

Required qualifications:

  • Experience with outreach - we’re looking for someone who knows the farming community (or is quick at learning to navigate this community) and is comfortable reaching out to individuals, organizations and educators to spread the word about AgSquared.
  • Experience working with the non-profit /education / government sectors - many of the contacts that you’ll be reaching out fall in one of these three communities. You’ll need to know how to change your message so that it resonates with the community you are reaching out to. 
  • Excellent writing skills – it is imperative that your writing style is clean and concise yet engaging. Show, don’t tell: a writing sample is helpful. 
  • Comfort with phone calls - you’ll need to show us that you are comfortable and confident when approaching new people on the phone.
  • Experience in contact management – you have experience managing communications with large contact lists. Familiarity with CRM systems a plus. 
  • Experience in content management (optional) – have you ever managed the content on a website - even if just for fun? If so, be sure to tell us about that.
