The Sherpa Chef is charged with the creation and execution of our weekly recipes. The ideal candidate is able to balance numerous details while managing food costs, margins, and infuse every aspect of their efforts with the underlying value of sustainability.

Expected Outcomes

Product
  • Create recipes that lead to high customer satisfaction through creativity, control food costs, take advantage of seasonality, and support a healthy and balanced approach.
  • Provide detailed nutrition information for recipes and make that information relevant to the customer.
  • Write, test, and collaborate with the marketing team to create recipe materials.
  • Coordinate tasting events that delight customers.
  • Connect with customers and staff to constantly receive feedback and tinker with the recipes.
Operations
  • All product and operations related purchasing according to sourcing guidelines.
  • Create, manage, and improve an efficient process for kit assembly, reusable packaging, and delivery.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including staffing, scheduling, and assembly/fulfillment.
  • Continuously improve operational efficiency and costs.
  • Ensure all local, state, and federal food safety and operating standards are met.
  • Provide easy and useful tips and guides to help convert the most naive cook into a confident chef.
  • Collaborate patiently and openly with a team of entrepreneurs through infancy and growth.
Experience
  • 5+ years in management of kitchen or catering operations (or applicable experience).
  • Purchasing and inventory management.
  • Team management and shift scheduling.
  • Scaling a small operation while ensuring quality of product and overall seamless customer experience.
  • Managing food costs and margins.
  • Nutrition planning interest and knowledge.
  • Environmental, human and business steward and stalwart.
