Organic Foods Sales Manager Job Summary:
Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative (LFFC) has begun the next steps in our natural, healthy expansion and we need someone to oversee our wholesale operation.
This highly motivated person would be responsible for management of the wholesale department while maintaining the co-op’s integrity as a high quality farmers’ co-op that provides retailers and other wholesale accounts with the freshest organic farm -produced foods in our region. As a cooperative we would want the leader of this team to work with our CSA, Transportation, and Warehouse Managers.
The sales manager will provide oversight, leadership, and participation in aligning with our mission when overseeing the department. The right candidate will be aligned with the values in the organic industry and have a strong desire for supporting small family farms.
Key Responsibilities:

Striving to keep the co-op’s customers satisfied while gaining new accounts for each season.

Understanding and working within a proposed budget while advancing sales throughout the seasons.

Overseeing the buyers and salespeople that make up the wholesale department; including but not limited to: Evaluations, Schedules, Hiring, Firing, etc.

Research food trends and increase competitiveness within the industry

Creating spread sheets for future growth, schedules etc.

Maintain customer satisfaction and customer consistency

Aggressively promoting/selling all fresh foods when they come available.

Establishing a good flow of communication between farmers and wholesale team

Planning promotions/sales

Monitoring inventories of products to establish the most efficient purchasing habits by coordinating freight/logistics to keep costs low

Communicate the wholesale department’s goals, concerns and progress to the general manager
Customer Service Responsibilities:

Demonstrate, model, coach and lead by example the highest level of customer service

Communicate with customers and process their orders

Assist in the establishment and outreach of new customers while maintaining solid relationships with existing customers

Selling all products predicted and notifying customers when there are shorts
-
Having a solid relationship with our customer base

Entrepreneurial drive and spirit and must be internally motivated.

Aligning yourself with our brand

Successfully generate and manage new opportunities, distribution, and record all activity in our wholesale database
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Abilities:
-
At least 2 years managerial experience and sales experience within the food industry

Knowledge of wholesale markets

Technologically aware with experience in processing sales, planning, spreads sheets, and sales software systems

Passion for the organic food industry

Experience working with small family farms

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Experience with warehousing/packing and logistics

Aligned with LFFC’s mission to help sustainable farmers
