Sundrop Flora is a flower farm and floral design operation in business since 2021. We have a very secure lease, which includes a 600 sq ft, one bedroom home, on a 270 acre parcel. Sundrop shares the land with a vegetable and sheep farmer. The flower farm has established perennial beds, 9 hoophouses, a walk-in fridge, two prop/seed-starting locations, storage areas, and a very small "studio." 

Located in the Gunnison Valley, it is situated near world-famous mountain biking, the wildflower capital of Colorado, a ski resort, and incredible hiking, all of which brings tourists, elopements, and destination weddings to our area. 

Sundrop designs and provides flowers for approximately 20+ weddings and elopements per year, has a flower subscription/CSA, provides edible flowers to local chefs and caterers, puts on workshops, hosts u-picks and farm dinners, and more. We were the first flower farm in the area and now there is only one other flower farm within 1.5 hours. 

The farm is located 22 minutes from downtown Gunnison (population 7k) and 50 minutes from Crested Butte (population 3k.) Because we are a tourist-based mountain town, much of our business comes from destination weddings, but we also have an established following with Gunnison locals. 

Sundrop has been featured in the newspaper and local magazines several times and has participated in farmers markets, pop-ups, and many other local events to become an established name in the area. We have five star reviews online and an excellent local reputation. 

Our growing practices are beyond-organic, and the sheep farmer allows us to use homemade compost for our beds each year. We collaborate with the vegetable farmer to help with farm opening and closing duties, as well as on-farm events like dinners, volunteer days, and u-picks. 

The infrastructure, housing (extremely difficult to find in this coveted mountain town!), perennials, and market are already established. They just need you to come expand even more! 

This opportunity would be best suited for a couple or single person. I run this operation on my own with one part-time person on the farm and several freelancers for weddings. However, it would be significantly easier if I had a partner who could also occasionally help. The house is not large enough to accommodate a family but perfect size for a single person or couple.
