Company description
Bywater is a small, seasonal neighborhood eatery focuses on raw bar and seafood (with plenty of "from the land" stuff, too). A tiny bar serves from-scratch cocktails, all natural wines, and good beer. We don't have a water view unless you squint and sit in just the right spot on the patio.
Due to our tiny size, it's crucial that our team works well together, front and back: positive energy, a genuine interest in food and beverage, intuitive timing and a sense of hospitality and warmth. We're looking to offer fine-dining level service in a comfortable, casual atmosphere.
Job description
We're looking to add to our small kitchen crew with a few more part- and full-time cooks. We have need for both beginning prep/line cooks as well as more experienced leaders. You'll find plenty of creative space to work on culinary projects and add dishes to our ever-changing menu, plus hands-on experience sourcing ingredients direct from farmers and vendors.
Ideal candidates have some culinary training and experience and are passionate (even, perhaps, nerdy) about food and all things food. Fermentation, preserving, sustainable seafood, nose-to-tail, coastal cuisines, seasonality, etc. There is room to stay on beyond the summertime for the right folks, as we are open year-round.
Bywater offers competitive wages based on experience, along with various perks after commitment: paid sick days and vacation leave, plus assistance with educational or career-specific training and field trips.
