Bywater is a small, seasonal neighborhood eatery focuses on raw bar and seafood (with plenty of "from the land" stuff, too). A tiny bar serves from-scratch cocktails, all natural wines, and good beer. We don't have a water view unless you squint and sit in just the right spot on the patio.
Due to our tiny size, it's crucial that our team works well together, front and back: positive energy, a genuine interest in food and beverage, intuitive timing and a sense of hospitality and warmth. We're looking to offer fine-dining level service in a comfortable, casual atmosphere.
Job description
Bywater is looking for servers, bartenders, and back waiters/hosts for the summer 2025 season. We're a small team focused on warm and precise hospitality while maintaining a fun atmosphere. We are a tight-knit team dedicated to creating a wonderful atmosphere for each other as well as for guests.
Here are a couple musts: must be friendly, positive, and passionate (nerdy, even) about food and beverage. Cocktails are from-scratch, our wine list is all-natural; the menu is small but changes constantly with the seasons. Storytelling and education are essential tools to connect with guests and keep us relevant in the community.
Wages are DOE and are competitive. Summer is our busy season, but "summer" these days lasts well into October. With commitment, Bywater offers a package of paid sick leave and vacation, plus assistance with educational and career-related training and field trips.
Both part- and full-time positions are available. Training is available for all positions, although we prefer bartender and server candidates to have a a few years experience in the food and beverage industry.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $20.00 - $30.00
