Company description
Hello!
Lambs is a neighborhood bar and event space on Broadway in South Portland. We are looking to hire a General Manager to co-operate our busy bar.
Our space is located in South Portland, by the Casco Bay Bridge, and offers seating for 68 inside and 105+ waterside seating on the Fore River looking out at Portland.
Our neighbors come to Lambs for our thoughtful and comfortable atmosphere, our sweet and welcoming staff, and excellent bar program. We regularly host community events and seek people who have similar interests in cultivating a community here with folks who work in local agriculture, food production, and the arts.
We are not a cocktail bar, but we sell a lot of cocktails. We value our neighborhood and community gathering space more than anything else, but pride ourselves on having a strong cocktail, wine and beer program.
At Lambs you will find the neighborhood enjoying drinks and snacks with their family and friends. We see a lot of people here with their babies and toddlers within the first hours of opening; In South Portland, the neighborhood goes to bed pretty early, so Lambs is never open past 11pm - with the exception of our monthly dance parties!
Lambs has a simple food menu that includes bread from our wonderful bakery neighbor and food partner, Night Moves Bread. We regularly host food pop-ups and on Fridays the bakery makes sourdough pizza.
We have a staff who work well with each other and enjoy interacting with the public. We are a community space and one where we welcome and encourage diversity.
Lambs offers consistent and regular pay and work schedules. Tipping is a part of the non-manager staff pay structure. We have a weekly tip pool based on hours worked rather than a singular shift. Lambs guarantees tipped staff make at least $20 an hour. This all creates a more equitable and less competitive environment, where everyone works together. This format also helps create a less complicated and competitive schedule, one that allows employees to more easily navigate life’s other schedules and demands while knowing better when and what their expected income will be.
