Willoughby General is a beloved neighborhood staple in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn with dependable food and a kind staff. We have a pantry provisions section, as well as sustainable home goods, local artists works, great gifts under $25 and apothecary items. We have a to-go food program with a strong breakfast crowd but are looking to grow in our lunch and dinner business, with the help of you! Our breakfast burritos are legendary (and pay the rent) but I want to expand the menu. As a community space we also host pop-ups, sustainability events, food tastings, crafting classes, recycling events and more! Sometimes during store hours, sometimes after hours. I've been running this business by myself for almost 7 years and I'm tired! I'm looking for someone who wants to invest and to help see it grow. I love the retail aspect of the business but the food side is less desirable to me. I have an opinion and a good palate but I want someone else to run the food program. Looking for either a financial investment or sweat equity. I'm open to either option. For sweat equity, you would take a modest hourly rate and then a percentage of the prepared foods sales. I want more creative foods, baked goods, specials, etc. A big plus is Social media, marketing, menu development skills. It's a great shop that is breaking even but needs the push of an additional passionate person to help make it a bigger success. If this is you, let's talk!
