Job description
We’re looking for a Prep Cook to be responsible for the execution of our evening small plates/snack menu while developing and maintaining standards and processes for our kitchen operations. This role is hands-on, requiring efficiency, organization, and leadership in a small kitchen without a hood.
Over time, the position (and the compensation) can expand into a Kitchen manager role, which would entail oversight of our daytime food operations, training prep cooks and line cooks, and ensuring smooth service across both day and night shifts.
Responsibilities - Prep Cook
Prepare and assemble menu items with consistency and efficiency, according to our recipes.
Maintain quality and standards as it pertains to our food - ensuring perishable ingredients are fresh, and prepped food are used within the date range
Make daily prep list and order guide - Monitor item quantities and make the prep list for the following day accordingly. Identify ingredients and items that need to be re-ordered.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff for seamless service.
Ensure adherence to food safety and cleanliness standards.
Responsibilities - Kitchen Manager (down the line)
Lead and execute kitchen operations during wine bar service (2 nights a week, 4 PM – 10 PM).
Lead and execute kitchen operations during coffee shop service (2 days a week, 8 - 3 PM)
Manage ingredient prep and inventory to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
Train and guide team members on prep and food execution.
Assist in evolving the food program to support both day and night operations.
Requirements
✔️ 1+ year of kitchen/culinary management experience required.
✔️ 2+ years of restaurant cooking experience required.
✔️ Experience working in a small kitchen setup without a hood preferred.
✔️ Strong leadership, training, and organizational skills.
✔️ Passion for high-quality ingredients, efficiency, and hospitality.
✔️ Ability to work eight hour shifts, plus ability to stand, squat or walk for extended periods
✔️Ability to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift and carry up to 50 pounds
✔️ allergen awareness test completed.

Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
