Amber Waves Farm is seeking an experienced and energetic candidate for the Farm Docent position for the 2025 season. This role involves leading the Pick Your Own Flower Program, educating visitors about the farm’s history and current operations, cultivating meaningful relationships with guests, and confidently communicating with donors and supporters. The ideal candidate is personable, enthusiastic, and passionate about connecting people with agriculture and the farm’s mission.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Passion for agriculture, sustainability, and community engagement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
• Experience in customer service, education, or public speaking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, outdoor environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable speaking with donors and representing the farm’s mission professionally.
• Prior experience in horticulture, farming, or event coordination is a plus.
• Primarily outdoor work, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Requires standing, walking, and light lifting 50 lbs.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays during high season

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $18.00 - $24.00
