This position is perfect for someone that has and is building a variety of skill sets, and changes with the requirements of the client.

You will work with Chef Rasa Stirbys Benefico as chef's assistant in a small family farm. 

We will work with the client to provide many of their culinary needs - from spices to use in their kitchen from items grown in their farm, to providing weekly meals and treats, and planning small to medium scale events and dinner parties.

Kitchen maintenance, daily cleaning tasks, inventory of prepared and frozen items, event execution and meal preparation would all feature in monthly responsibilities. Helping harvest our small kitchen garden and work with farmers at the larger family farm to maintain inventory and processing stock would be a major weekly role. 

There will be daily focus on basic kitchen prep and kitchen maintenance. 

Must: be adept at maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, have some knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation, have experience with food preparation. Must be comfortable carrying up to 50 lbs of tomatoes (for example) at a time. Must be ready to be part of a small, at times very busy team that is focused on great energy and a great final product. 

Preferred: event and service experience; kitchen experience. Personal car may be used for shopping, moving or picking up farm produce, delivering meals. Experience with scratch cooking ideal. Experience with food preservation and canning ideal. 
 
This position is flexible, but there will be required availability around busy seasons. 

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
