The Produce Associate position at Riverwards Produce takes ownership and initiative of the produce department. They maintain well-stocked, obsessively clean produce displays, receive and process incoming produce, organize produce back stock, and perform regularly scheduled cleanings. They have an expert knowledge of produce and produce uses and can help customers and staff with inquiries and suggestions. They have a working knowledge of retail customer service and can jump in to help ring up a customer, find a quart of strawberries or fill a bag of bulk almonds.

OVERVIEW: Riverwards Produce is a produce-focused market in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia
The Prepared Foods Driver position at Riverwards Produce is responsible for the safe and timely transport of prepackaged products, ingredients and dry goods to the market and other locations as needed. They work closely with the Prepared Foods manager to coordinate logistics and the integration of the driving schedule with in-store responsibilities. The PFDS Driver has a clean driving record and great communication skills. They receive incoming orders at the store and adhere to food safe storage protocol when transporting products between facilities. This position is based out of the commissary kitchen in Port Richmond, Philadelphia.
Reports to: PFDS Manager
Responsibilities:
Drives store vehicles to obtain products needed in-store for Prepared Foods
Participates in PFDS department communications and updates
Responsible for maintaining clean vehicles for transport of goods
Provides excellent customer service and has a working knowledge of all PFDS product
Organizes and maintains the cleanliness of PFDS storage spaces
Assists PFDS associates in between drops
Requirements:
Experience receiving, processing, and merchandising produce in a retail setting
A desire to greet and engage vendors and foster relationships with regulars
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and spend 8+ hours standing and walking up and down stairs
Passion for the principles of sustainable food and farming
Flexibility in scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Maintains an active drivers’ license with a clean driving record
A diligent approach to safety and sanitation. ServSafe (or analogous) certification a plus
A team player with a willingness to jump in and help with all tasks
Ability to roll with the punches of a rapidly growing start-up business
COMPENSATION: This position is full-time. Compensation is dependent upon experience, and starts at $17/hr.
