Early Girl is a beautiful boutique farm owned by a former Chef. We are nestled on the South Shore of Long Island, NY.
We utilize organic, regenerative, no-till practices to grow highly diversified seasonal produce, herbs, and flowers for our CSA and restaurant clientele.
In addition, we operate a seasonal cafe for our CSA members, where we cook and serve dishes made from ingredients grown on the farm and feature local purveyors.

Job description
Early Girl seeks an experienced crew member to help our small, vibrant team this summer.
We seek a go-getter with an open mind, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and patience. Someone who loves farming and being outside no matter the weather. A person who enjoys being a part of a team, sharing ideas, and working together to complete our work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Your tasks will include:
*Seeding, transplanting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
*Receiving and processing crops as they are brought to our packing room for distribution to our CSA and Restaurant clientele.
*You may also be asked to help us run our CSA Market. Our market is stocked with beautiful artisanal products, cheese, charcuterie, local sourdough bread, and specialty products from other local farms.
*In addition, we have a pop-up cafe for our CSA Members, where we create light grab-and-go dishes with our produce for them to enjoy at the farm or take home. If you like to cook, you may also be asked to help us in our pop-up kitchen!
*As a crew member, you must be self-motivated and energetic. You must also be able to multitask and work long hours during the season, and you must have a positive attitude and friendly disposition.
Applicants must be organized, clean, and thorough.
Proficiency/Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
*Some farming experience will be helpful.
*For example:
*Experience in seeding, transplanting, harvesting, cultivating, and processing crops.
*Basic equipment skills.
We currently use a BCS, a small-scale tractor, and a Japanese Paper-pot Transplanter. This also includes understanding farm infrastructure like irrigation setup, roll-up mechanisms in the greenhouses, troubleshooting, etc.
*Interfacing with and assisting CSA Members.
Schedule/Compensation
Start Date: May 5th - September 6th
Tuesday - Saturday, 7 am - 4 pm.
*Hours may vary based on weather and work-load*
*$20-$25 per hour DOE
*1/2 hour paid lunch break
**This position does not include housing or transportation.**
