We are currently seeking to hire a Workshop Facilitator for The Well at Oxon Run.
Re-opening on March 21st for the Spring season, The Well at Oxon Run is a farm and community wellness space that is home to seasonal produce/herb production, pollinator gardens, a farm stand, a greenhouse, and a large youth garden with an outdoor classroom. This is an inclusive space for all members of the community to learn, share, and experience.
Under the direction of The Well at Oxon Run Program Manager, The Workshop Facilitator role will be responsible for coordinating and teaching a Snap-Ed curriculum and other gardening and urban agricultural workshops to community members. After a brief planning period, this position will work onsite at The Well at Oxon Run. Tuesday through Saturday between the hours of 9:30 am and 5:00 pm with occasional evening hours being required.
Essential Job Functions:
Program Development & Implementation
Lead coordination and instruction of nutrition education, gardening and urban agriculture classes, ensuring alignment with national standards and best practices set by agencies like USDA, CDC, EPA.
Implement food distribution programs at The Well including but not limited to Community Harvest Days, Wellness Market Saturdays and CSA program.
Follow data collection processes to gather participation data for nutrition education, gardening workshops and food distribution programs.
Provide general support for all programming and events at The Well
Support in maintaining operating hours for The Well
Volunteer/Visitor Engagement
Maintain a welcoming environment for visitors and volunteers
Support activities related to volunteer group experiences including onboarding, training , logistics, delegation and on-site supervision
Community Engagement & External Relations
Attend community meetings when assigned
Support community outreach/feedback initiatives as it relates to the farm space and programming to better meet community needs
Lead tours for community members, partner organizations, and volunteer groups
Escalate and record Workers Compensation and visitor incidents
Additional related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience developing and facilitating health and nutrition workshops
Experience delivering federal food assistance program curriculums is preferred
Cultural competence in the effects of systemic oppression on a local community.
Knowledge, skills and interest in small-scale organic food production or home gardening
Demonstrated commitment to the vision and mission of DC Greens’ work
Conflict resolution/de-escalation skills
Qualities of self-motivation, time management, flexibility, creative problem solving and collaboration
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to ensure smooth operations
Ability to work independently and part of a team
Ability to perform manual labor and lift up to 50 lbs.
Perform duties in an outdoor environment.
Must be able to pass a background check (required by state law since the role interacts with children)
Salary & Benefits
This is a temporary, part-time (30 hours per week on average), hourly, non-exempt position. Hours may fluctuate based on work plan and seasonal activities. The hourly rate for this position is $23.50 starting in May 1, 2025 and ending on October 31, 2025. This position is not eligible for benefits or overtime.

Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
