Job description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Bakery Manager to lead our bakery team and oversee all aspects of our bread and pastry program. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, methodical, and meticulous individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Bakery Manager will be responsible for production, recipe development, team leadership, and ensuring that our baked goods meet the highest standards of quality, flavor, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all daily bakery operations, ensuring efficiency and excellence in production.
- Develop and refine recipes, including seasonal and holiday menus.
- Create and maintain weekly production schedules for bread and pastry.
- Source, purchase, and receive all bakery ingredients, supplies, and packaging.
- Hire, train, and schedule bakery staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and track product loss using QuickBooks.
- Ensure timely preparation of baked goods for the farmstand and other outlets.
- Conduct team tastings to uphold quality and consistency.
- Assist ownership with annual budgeting and financial planning.
- Perform annual performance reviews and provide ongoing mentorship to the bakery team.
- Step in to cover shifts as needed when employees are sick or on vacation.
- Maintain and oversee the upkeep of bakery equipment and facilities.
- Enforce cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
- Actively participate in baking, including mixing, shaping, laminating, and baking bread and pastries.

Compensation
this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $65,000.00 - $80,000.00
