Pay: $22.00/hour with 2 paid markets off annuallyHours: 25-28 hours/week
Main Season (34 weeks, April through mid-November)
7.5 hrs/wk on Saturday mornings for market, setup, and breakdown, 5:30am-1:00pm Note: Saturday onsite work is required
12.5-20.5 hrs/wk on operations- Remote
Holiday Bazaar/Winter Market (17 weeks, late November through March) - 10.75 hours/week
6.5 hrs/wk on Saturday mornings for market, setup, and breakdown, 7:30am-2:00pm Note: Saturday onsite work is required

Responsibilities
The Executive Director is responsible for providing planning, operational, and promotional management for NATM, which includes the annual Holiday Bazaar and Winter Market.
In addition to a basic knowledge of and commitment to the mission of NATM, the incumbent will have a strong work ethic, be detail and service oriented, and be able to effectively manage the challenge of working on a wide variety of tasks.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaboration with Membership
Maintain effective communication with the Board of Directors, member committees, staff, vendors, customers, UNC Asheville, sponsors, community partners and special guests
Meet monthly with the Board of Directors virtually or in-person
Coordinate vendor applications & selection with Membership Committee Coordinate and participate in market meetings (Annual Spring and Fall, as well as committee meetings as needed)
Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Treasurer
Collaborate with the Board of Directors on annual review of the Bylaws and the Rules and Procedures
Market Operations
Manage routine planning and implementation for weekly market operation Manage weekly vendor schedule and support vendor needs
Monitor product mix management to enhance supply, selection, and appeal Oversee all market operations and resolve issues, including customer parking Enforce market policies, rules, and regulations
Coordinate and complete pre-market preparations and set-up (e.g. setting up all market infrastructure, booth items for market booth, sponsor booth and community booth space)
Coordinate and complete post-market break-down
Manage the weekly cash flow and work with our accountant on PNL Reports, taxes, and payroll
Staff Management
Hire, train, and manage staff of 2-5 part-time market assistants
Work with and assist musician booking agent
Manage at-market vendor fee collection, token sales with POS card machine system, SNAP compliance. Activities include accounting, bookkeeping, data collection and reporting
Delegate tasks to staff, interns, or volunteers, and manage staff hours
Annually update the NATM Staff Handbook
Community Engagement & Partner Relations
Implement marketing, outreach, and promotion plans including market features (e.g. events, fundraising, community and sponsor booth guests, customer engagement activities, and important market updates or changes)
Manage the NATM Sponsorship Program
Recruit Community Booth guests
Collaborate with the Marketing Coordinator on social media and e-newsletter posting
Collaborate with ASAP (Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project) around Double SNAP and additional food access programs and report weekly data Manage market merchandise including inventory, sales, and new merch orders Designing, ordering, and distributing market flyers with event and update details
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Physically able to handle repetitive tasks including lifting and carrying (50lbs)
Comfortable planning and implementing engagement activities and events
Commitment to effective customer service
Self-directed and able to work independently with remote admin needs
Have strong conflict management and de-escalation skills
Experience with brand style, graphic design and design platforms like Canva Marketing using Facebook, Instagram, Mailchimp, and website (Wordpress)
Reliable in meeting assigned schedules and responsibilities
Ability to complete routine duties with consistency and attention to detail
Accuracy with processes and record keeping including Excel and Quickbooks
Proficiency in Google Platforms including Gmail, Google Drive, etc.

Accessibility
Applicant must have a reliable vehicle, computer with internet access, and smartphone.
Applicant must be able to be on a screen for long periods of time.
NATM is year-round and held outdoors and in seasonal weather conditions. The market information booth is covered but is exposed to the elements including heat, cold, rain, and insects. The market is on a slightly sloped parking lot.
Job details include a lot of walking, lifting, and carrying market supplies (includes signs, tents, tent weights, and bins).
This position requires some storage of market supplies at home including tokens, merchandise, a printer, a laminator, office supplies, staff radios, cash box, important documents, and seasonal market materials.
