Are you passionate about food education, nutrition, and working with children? Join the SNACC team!

This is an in-person teaching position bringing hands-on food education to school-based in-school and after-school programs across NYC.

Time Commitment:
Flexible scheduling! Educators can choose their schedules. Most classes take place during the school day.

Role & Responsibilities:

Lead engaging, hands-on food education classes for students (Pre-K through high school).
Teach students fundamental cooking skills, nutrition concepts, and healthy eating habits.
Prepare for classes by procuring groceries and prepping ingredients as needed.
Ensure proper class set up and clean-up and leave the space in good condition.
Build a positive learning environment that excites students about food and nutrition.
Maintain communication with SNACC program staff and school site coordinators.

Qualifications:

Experience working with youth.
Passion for nutrition, cooking, and food education.
Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage students.
Highly reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
Basic cooking/kitchen skills; ability to adapt recipes and teach fundamental techniques.
Interest in food access, food justice, and community health is a plus.

Compensation:  $25/Hr

Interviews will take place on a rolling basis via Zoom.
