Marketing Director
Taste the Local Difference is a women-owned marketing & media company specializing in communication strategy for Michigan's local food businesses. We are passionate about education, building relationships and empowering entrepreneurs. Our team supports purpose-driven brands throughout the state of Michigan in local food and agriculture.
The Marketing Director is responsible for the development, fulfillment, and project management of Taste the Local Difference (TLD)’s client marketing services, as well as supporting TLD’s overall marketing strategy. These services include but are not limited to: website design, e-commerce solutions, social media strategy, content development, design, video, and photography.
Responsibilities Include:
Manage Growth and Strategic Direction of Client Marketing Services (60%)
- Maintain profit margin by developing accurate quotes and efficient systems.
- Engage in subsidized services as point of contact for referrals to streamline processes.
- Delegate clear project management or fulfillment deliverables and review for quality
- Maintain sustainable capacity for hours : fulfillment staff ratio, and adjust as needed
- Manage client projects and personally fulfill deliverables, as available
Contribute to TLD Brand Awareness & Marketing Efforts (10%)
- Actively engage in hosting webinars, paid trainings, and media opportunities
- Support success of website traffic improvements through content strategy and search engine optimization
Manage Staff Accountability and Culture of Marketing Services Fulfillment Team (20%)
- Direct management and regular check-ins
- Setting workplans and providing strategic direction
- Track hours and ensure appropriate quality, efficiency, and margin are maintained
Participate in Leadership Team Decision Making and Strategy (10%)
- Contribute to relevant line items in the budget, including: All Marketing TA, Contractors
- Report on metrics including: Client Satisfaction, Marketing Services Margin
Desired Skills:
- Extensive experience with a wide range of marketing channels and strategies, including websites, eCommerce, search engine optimization, email marketing, social media, and paid advertising on social and search.
- Experience using a variety of CMS and marketing platforms, including: Squarespace, Shopify, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Looker Studio, Square, Wix, Wordpress. + Experience using farm-specific eCommerce platforms such as GrownBy, Barn2Door, and Local Food Marketplace.
- Project Management experience, including using a project management platform such as Teamwork to manage the workload of a small team.
- Experience managing small teams, including workload management and deliverable review.
- Experience quoting digital marketing services.
- Experience or interest in local food systems.
- Quick learner with ability to ask questions.
- Collaborative in nature, with ability to work and communicate across departments.
- Self directed and comfortable with remote based work.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000
Location: Fully remote
