Almost all of our vegetables are marketed through our FarmShare, our Community Supported Agriculture program. Our meats and eggs are marketed on farm and at the Troy Waterfront Farmers’ Market. Our farm is committed to promoting sustainable agriculture through biodiversity and community education. Many of our ventures are certified organic, and the entire acreage is protected as farmland forever via an agricultural easement.
Job description
Laughing Earth is seeking a Livestock Manager for the season, April through November, with an option to start earlier for the right candidate. The ideal candidate would possess at least two seasons of experience with a small-to-mid-scale pasture-based livestock operation, a strong attention to detail, and an ability to learn on their feet. The Livestock Manager’s duties would consist of seasonal and weekly planning, as well as planning and execution of pasture rotations for meat chickens, egg chickens, pigs, cattle, and turkeys. The daily feeding, watering, and maintenance of these animal populations would fall in their purview, as well as assisting with the poultry slaughter, inventory of meat products, and sales at the farmers’ market and farm store.
Full time, 40-45 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with weekend chores once or twice per month, Saturday PM, Sunday AM/PM)

this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
