Job description
The Shift Leader will be the point person for closing shifts in lieu of the Market Manager/Assistant Manager. Duties include; ensuring the floor is well stocked, solving customer service issues, solving IT issues, counting and closing the cash drawers, completing closing inventory forms, and overseeing closing procedures. This position requires overseeing Farm Market operations and executing decisions to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Other duties include; setting up/maintaining/taking down grocery and produce displays, maintaining high quality and freshness of all perishable products, culling undesirable produce, preparing produce for displays as needed, adherence to established food handling safety guidelines including proper rotation of grocery items according to FIFO method (First In, First Out), checking food date labels as needed, maintaining our system for storing/labeling/organizing all backstock in the refrigerators and dry-shelves, safe handling of box cutters and knives, checking out customers on the registers in an efficient and friendly manner, handling payment transactions and other POS procedures with accuracy, welcoming customers and fielding questions about our farms and our market and its products, the CSA program, our community partnerships, and the co-op.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
