Job Opportunity: 1:1 Caregiver with Culinary Skills to Support Autistic Young Women
Are you passionate about caregiving and culinary arts? We’re hiring caregivers to work 1:1 with Autistic young women in Manhattan. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creating meaningful connections, preparing meals, and providing personalized support.
Location: New York City – Upper West Side, Upper East Side, and Tribeca
Pay: $30 per hour
Hours: We have flexible shifts available:
Weekdays: 12-6 PM or 6-9 PM
Weekends: 10 AM-9 PM

Job Requirements:
- Experience as a caregiver for individuals with disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- Experience with meal preparation or cooking for others.
- Familiarity working with people with minimal language or non-speakers.
- Ability to walk at a rapid pace for 20+ minutes and navigate Manhattan for outings.
- Flexibility, creativity, and patience to support diverse needs and preferences.
- Strong communication skills and experience with de-escalation techniques.
Preferred qualifications:
- Interest in mental health and supporting holistic well-being.
- Willingness to assist with light housekeeping, grocery shopping, and errands.
- College degree and ability to swim are a plus.
Responsibilities: Your role will include a mix of caregiving and culinary-related tasks, such as:
- Providing one-on-one care, including hygiene, daily living skills, and emotional support.
- Preparing and plating nutritious meals based on dietary guidelines.
- Collaborating with clients to introduce new foods and engage in cooking activities.
- Supporting self-care practices, such as dressing and grooming.
- Assisting with light housekeeping and errands, including grocery shopping.
- Acting as a travel companion and supporting participation in community activities.
- Engaging in recreational activities like music, puzzles, or drawing.
