At Stone Bank Farm Market, we believe in knowing where our food comes from, shaking hands with the people who grow it, and honoring the land we live on. Our farm and market are located on a 3 acre property in Stone Bank, Wisconsin where we provide fresh produce, dairy products, poultry, pork, and organic grass-fed beef as well as a wide variety of artisanal foods in our year-round market.
The farm is dedicated to producing delicious, high quality, organically-grown vegetables, herbs and flowers on a half-acre of land that includes raised vegetable beds, field beds and greenhouses. We take great pride in using sustainable growing practices in our gardens and the 75 acres of preserved farmland surrounding our property where we raise beef cattle, pigs and sheep.
Surrounded by 75 acres of preserved farmland, Stone Bank Farm encompasses a working Farm, Market and Kitchen providing fresh produce, organic meats, artisanal foods and seasonally prepared foods to our community. Our year-round Market is housed in a historic church.
Job description
Stone Bank Farm Market is seeking an experienced line cook to join our Kitchen team. Must have a passion for seasonal American cooking. An experienced, strong command of fundamental cooking techniques as well as culinary sanitation practices is required.
Cook will work alongside our executive chef and the rest of the kitchen team to write and execute weekly seasonal menus for the Market as well as special events on the Farm. The Kitchen’s primary mission is to highlight fresh, seasonal produce grown on our farm as well as produce, meats, and other seasonal products sourced from surrounding farmers and purveyors. Our menus are grounded in seasonality and inspired by the principles of organic farming and responsible land stewardship. The Kitchen is an integral aspect of the Farm’s mission to educate and inform the community about the importance of sustainable agriculture practices.
At Stone Bank Farm, the Market, Kitchen and Farm teams function collaboratively to foster an immersive educational experience for our customers. To that end, each of our employees is expected to creatively contribute to the Farm’s mission to educate and inform. Candidates must be self-motivated and energized by working collaboratively.
Minimum 1-2 years of culinary experience; culinary school/university experience preferred.
Experience managing a station from prep to execution.
Work cleanly and efficiently with attention to detail.
Proficiency with sanitary kitchen practices
Promote and contribute to positive, collaborative team culture
Knowledge of and passion for seasonal American cuisine.

Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
