Free Range Flowers is an 8-acre farm in Bellingham, WA (Nooksack). The farm specializes in cut flowers and foliage, particularly unique perennials and shrubs. Organic practices are part of a larger farm project of environmental and social sustainability including regular check-ins, healthy communication, conscientious use of physical labor, rainwater harvesting, cover cropping, solar power, and more. Job description
This role is focused primarily on work in the field with some indoor work as needed. This position entails working with other crew members to efficiently grow high quality cut flowers and foliage for wholesale markets. A typical week includes work weeding, cultivating, and assisting with harvest. This role requires good communication, teamwork, fine motor skills, and a willingness to learn.
24-30 hours per week
Sunday-Tuesday or Monday-Wednesday preferred (flexible)
June through August

Tasks:
- Transplanting by hand
- Bed preparation and cultivation: raking, hoeing, etc.
- Hand-weeding
- Washing and filling buckets and trays
- Pushing carts to and from field
- Safely operating cutting tools for harvest
- Safely working around farm equipment
- Quickly assessing quality of flower bunches and determining that output is top quality
