Boulder Food Rescue is a just-in-time food rescue that collects food that would be wasted from grocery stores and other retail locations and distributes it to communities throughout Boulder by bike! We work through a decentralized system where communities organize and manage their own food distribution. Through our network of over 100 volunteers, we are able to rescue and redistribute over 1,500 lbs of food every day. BFR works to create a more just and less wasteful food system by distributing both produce and power.
Job description
The Logistics Manager is responsible for leading, maintaining, coordinating and tracking all systems and processes related to BFR’s food redistribution schedule to reflect the needs of the daily operations of the food redistribution program. They collaborate with the rest of the Food Redistribution Team to manage the Food Redistribution Schedule according to the logistical needs of external collaborators, including couriers, food donors, No Cost Grocery Program Coordinators, other volunteers, and participants. They collaborate regularly with the Courier Coordinator to orient and onboard new volunteers. They also manage daily and short notice Food Redistribution Logistics through the management of BFR’s Volunteer Line.
