Broad Arrow Farm is a whole animal butcher and specialty food market located on a regenerative livestock farm in Bristol, Maine. Broad Arrow Farm is also the site of The Rooting Pig, our outdoor charcuterie bar overlooking our pasture where we serve charcuterie boards, seasonal small plates, and a thoughtful beverage selection. The core of our business is our pasture raised, heritage breed pigs. Our exceptional pork is the essential ingredient in our raw, cooked, smoke and dry-cured programs, and is featured in many of Maine’s finest restaurants.
Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed and positive individual to join our team as the manager of our on-farm specialty food market. This full time, seasonal position is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a passionate and knowledgeable team at a small and growing sustainable culinary and farm-to-fork business.
Primary Responsibilities
Farm Market Lead
- Manage the daily operations of the Broad Arrow Farm Market, including maintaining market appearance and merchandising of products, opening and closing duties to protocol
- Provide excellent customer service and hospitality to guests both in person and over the phone
- Work closely with Kitchen team to package house-made products for retail sale
- Maintain accurate inventory of all market products
- Manage transactional elements of retail sales, including using our POS, and handling cash and credit transactions
Skills and Qualifications
Our ideal candidate is a friendly and professional team player with a sense of urgency and an ability to multitask, has retail or service experience, and has knowledge of or interest in cooking and Real Food. We seek a true Hospitalitarian who naturally delivers warmth, grace, and a memorable feeling to every person they encounter. Lastly, this person is committed to raising the standards of growth and performance for themselves, and their team.
What we require:
- A genuine interest in hospitality, Real Food and good products!
- A four or five-day, 40-hour week from May 1 through October 15, including Sat/Sun.
- Ability to walk and stand as required to perform essential functions
- Relevant experience in a similar capacity is preferred
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
