Great Performances operates Café 77 at New York Historical. We are a hospitality management company committed to collaboration, innovation, and quality in our seasonal menus, striking design, impeccable service, and critical attention to detail. This woman-owned business serving New York City for over 40 years is renowned for events catering as well as food service in celebrated New York City cultural institutions, including Jazz at Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Apollo Theater, and others. Great Performances is the nation’s first caterer to own and operate its own organic farm, Katchkie Farm, located in Kinderhook, NY. Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service as a counter service attendant, cashier, and barista.
Maintain cleanliness of the cafe throughout the shift.
Restock food and beverage items whenever necessary.
Perform opening and closing procedures.
Follow NYC Department of Health regulations.
Qualifications
1 to 2 years of hospitality experience in a customer-facing position
1-year barista experience
Experience with restaurant POS systems, cash, and credit card handling
Passion for food, beverage, and hospitality
Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to describe menu items
Anticipates guest needs and derives satisfaction from providing excellent customer service
Professional demeanor and polished appearance with a warm and welcoming personality
Strong work ethic, well organized, focused, attentive to detail with a sense of urgency
Dependable and punctual
Enthusiastic, team player with a positive attitude
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., reach bend, and stand throughout an 8-hour shift
Food Handler’s Certificate a plus
Location: The New York Historical
Schedule: Full Time, On-Site
Base salary: $20.00-$25.00/hour
